Heat recovery from process exhaust air and drying
Dryers, paint lines and thermal processes give off warm, often humid or loaded exhaust air. This is how a gas-to-gas plate heat exchanger recovers its heat.
Dryers, paint lines and thermal processes give off warm, often humid or loaded exhaust air. Its heat can be used to preheat the fresh air of the same process.
Separate flow paths
In the plate heat exchanger, exhaust air and fresh air run in separate channels. Whatever the exhaust air carries stays on its side.
Fouling and cleaning
Dust, grease or paint mist settle on the plates. Wide plate gaps foul more slowly and lower the pressure drop, but the same heat flow needs a little more space. The sizing weighs both against your permissible pressure drop.
Material
For humid exhaust air with corrosive condensate, coated aluminium or stainless steel are options. We specify the material from your operating data.
Frequently asked questions
Which plate spacing suits loaded exhaust air?
For exhaust air laden with dust, grease or paint mist, wide plate gaps are the more robust choice: they foul more slowly and are easier to clean.
Does the exhaust air need filtering first?
With heavily loaded exhaust air a filter upstream of the heat exchanger is advisable. How fine, we clarify from your exhaust air before the quote.
